We have identified several badger homes, known as Setts, in the Copse, some of which are still being used.

This one, near where we are standing, is still inhabited (lived in) and you can see this as the opening is wide and clear of debris, and we may be able to see some paw marks.

It could have an extensive underground with a series of tunnels and chambers.

About UK Badgers and their fascinating lives | Badger Trust

We are not entirely sure how many badgers we have in the Copse and whether they are a family unit, but Peter has managed to take an image using his special night setting on his camera.

It is another important find in the Copse which demonstrates that it is a safe place for animals to live as they will have security and a reliable food source.
